What We Do

Pathways to Progress

Workshops and Luncheons

At the heart of our mission to strengthen local nonprofits, the Pathways to Progress Workshops and Luncheons provide essential training and networking opportunities for nonprofit leaders across southwestern New Mexico. Our workshops are tailored to address the unique challenges faced by organizations in rural and underserved communities, covering critical topics such as strategic planning, grant writing, financial management, and board governance.

What You’ll Gain from Pathways to Progress

Through quarterly workshops and regular luncheons, nonprofit leaders will gain access to in-depth training delivered by experienced professionals. Whether you’re looking to enhance your fundraising strategies or improve your organizational governance, Pathways to Progress offers tools and resources that can drive meaningful growth and sustainability for your organization.

Our workshops are complemented by networking luncheons, which provide a space for nonprofit leaders to connect, share experiences, and explore collaborative opportunities. By joining these events, you’re not just gaining skills; you’re also becoming part of a supportive community of like-minded individuals dedicated to making a difference in southwestern New Mexico.

Why Choose Pathways to Progress?

  1. Targeted Training: We focus on the needs of socially and economically disadvantaged nonprofits, ensuring that our programs are accessible and relevant to those serving in underserved areas.
  2. Flexible Access: Workshops are available both in-person and online, making it easy for organizations throughout the region to participate.
  3. Expert-Led Sessions: Each workshop is led by professionals with deep expertise, providing you with actionable insights and practical guidance.
  4. Community Connection: Our luncheons offer a unique opportunity to build relationships with other nonprofit leaders, foster partnerships, and strengthen the collective impact of nonprofits across the region.

Bring Pathways to Progress to Your Board

In addition to our public workshops and luncheons, the Gila Community Foundation now offers private Pathways to Progress: Board Governance Training sessions for nonprofit boards, municipal governing bodies, special districts, and other community organizations.

These customized trainings are delivered by Jamie Sechrist, our Executive Director, and are designed to help boards strengthen governance practices, clarify roles and responsibilities, improve oversight, understand fiduciary duties, and build a strong foundation for long-term organizational success. On-site, online, and hybrid training options are available, allowing organizations throughout New Mexico to participate in the format that best meets their needs. Each session is tailored to the participating board while providing practical tools, resources, and guidance that can be implemented immediately.

Organizations interested in scheduling a private Board Governance Training are invited to complete a brief request form (see links to forms below). The information provided will help us better understand your organization, training needs, and scheduling preferences. Submission of the form begins the scheduling process, and a member of our team will follow up to discuss availability and next steps.

Whether your board is newly formed, experiencing leadership transitions, or simply seeking to strengthen its effectiveness, Pathways to Progress Board Governance Training can provide the knowledge and resources needed to support confident, informed leadership.
